Webcam working under FreeBSD 5.4 or 6.0

Ok, I have three nice newish webcams here.  I would like to be able to get at least one of them working via the command line to take pictures, so I can record what the boat is looking at, as it chugs along.

I might have to write a driver (shudder), so that I can get one of the webcams listed below to work:-

• Logitech Messenger USB        Ven: 0x046d  Dev: 0x08f0
• Logitech Buddycam Express   Ven: 0x046d  Dev: 0x0920
• Logitech Quickcam Express    Ven: 0x046d  Dev: 0x0928

Why does Logitech have to make it so difficult, ie. lack of documentation, and so many different models?
