Webcam working under FreeBSD 5.4 or 6.0
Ok, I have three nice newish webcams here. I would like to be able to get at least one of them working via the command line to take pictures, so I can record what the boat is looking at, as it chugs along.
I might have to write a driver (shudder), so that I can get one of the webcams listed below to work:-
- Logitech Messenger USB Ven: 0x046d Dev: 0x08f0
- Logitech Buddycam Express Ven: 0x046d Dev: 0x0920
- Logitech Quickcam Express Ven: 0x046d Dev: 0x0928
Why does Logitech have to make it so difficult, ie.
Find a propellor
The 70mm propellor will be too small. I think I will need something at least 4" in diameter. I have looked on line at some of the electric Mercury outboard trolling motors. Seems to be big in USA, but not so much here. Apart from the expence, would have to worry about the shaft seal, as the motor operates underwater.
Can anyone help me out here?
Motor shaft attachments
Will need to figure out a way to attach a shaft to the wiper motor.
At the moment, I would like to try using a snug plastic tube, as a flexible link to the propellor shaft.
Weigh all the componants
Need to pick up the SLA batteries first. Once the componants have been weighed, then I can work out the size of pontoons I need. 173mm x 90mm of PVC tubing will lift 1Kg.
Ghost the ASC test HD
I need to back this up, JIC something goes pear shaped with the HD. It is rather old :-)
Test, ghosting back to another HD. Then try upgrading to 6.0 via cvsup!
Test out and chart battery voltage vs load temp. and time
Will need to find some documentation on the Internet, concerning Sealed Lead Acid Battery voltage vs capacity left in the battery eg. at what voltage does the battery have 40% capacity left? Is this trackable, or am I barking up the wrong tree here.
It would be nice to know how much is left, so one can have a strategic backup plan.
